Senate races to follow
Ballotpedia says it is following 12 Senate seats as battleground races in 2026, three held by Democrats and nine held by Republicans. Ballotpedia notes that Democrats are defending seats in Georgia and Michigan, states President Donald Trump won in 2024, and Republicans are defending a seat in Maine, a state Kamala Harris won.
Ballotpedia also lists Senate seats left open by retirements, including those of Republicans Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Joni Ernst of Iowa and Democrat Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire.
