WXXI-TV Television Rochester (Channel 21) is PBS affiliated television station, licensed to Rochester, New York. WXXI Public Broadcasting Council is the owner of the WXXI-TV (Channel 21). The Channel 21 founded in 1966 and the first show of WXXI-TV aired 52 years ago on 6 September 1966. The call letter meaning of WXXI-TV (Channel 21) is ” XXI= Roman numeral 21”. WXXI (AM 1370) and WXXI-FM are sister channels of WXXI-TV (Channel 21). These three studios, located on State Street near downtown Rochester.

History
WXXI-TV began its transmission in 1966 with NET affiliation television. The affiliation with NET of WXXI-TV remained from 1966 to 1970. In 1970, it was affiliated with PBS and still carry programming with it. But, the sister channel, WXXI-FM and WXXI-AM affiliated with National Public Radio.
