How results are reported here

LiveNewsWorld does not operate or license an automated vote-count feed. This is an editorial live page: our editors post verified updates from state and local election officials, the Associated Press, Reuters and other named news organizations. Vote totals, when given, are quoted from an official source with the time they were posted. For complete, up-to-the-minute counts, check your state or local election office.

Result status labels

Label What it means
UNCOUNTED Polls may be closed but no results have been reported.
COUNTING Officials have reported partial results. No one has been projected the winner.
LEADING A candidate is ahead in the partial count. This is not a win. Leads can change as more ballots, including mail and provisional ballots, are counted.
PROJECTED WINNER A named news organization, such as the AP, has projected the winner. We always say who made the projection.
