WMVT Milwaukee


WMVT: Milwaukee PBS owned by Milwaukee Area Technical College is a Milwaukee-based station launched on Jan 29, 1963. WMVS is the sister of the service broadcasting on Ch 10. The duo is branded as Milwaukee PBS and share space at the Continuing Education Center in the Area Technical College campus on North 8th Street in downtown Milwaukee. The sisters operate separately from WPT state network however the instructional TV programs are sponsored by Milwaukee Technical College, PBS and WPT. North Humboldt Boulevard in Milwaukee’s Estabrook Park neighborhood serves as the transmitter site. Opening Your World is the catchphrase of the station. UHF Spectrum of WMVT was sold by Milwaukee PBS in April 2017 in an auction sponsored US-wide by Federal Communications Commission.
